Singer Esther Akoth alias Akothee has urged single mothers who are searching for jobs not to seek sympathy from interviewers but rather stand firm and answer questions as asked.

The self-proclaimed president of single mothers advises that when asked about their salary expectations, the mothers should not start explaining how single they are and appear needy.

“No one hires you according to your single life but rather, they want people who can add value to the organizations target and time. Answer questions about your motherhood or family issues when the employer has asked you but if not, simply stick to the main agenda and that is securing a job,” she said.

“Some of you think that if you tell the employer about your frustrations and tarnishing the name of the recent employer, you will get some sympathy, which is very wrong, ” she continued.

The flamboyant artist went on to say that they should give a reason as to why they are leaving their current job and this will make the employer understand them better.

She went ahead giving an example phrase on how to answer some questions from the employer as ‘I need a new challenge, and I feel like this new environment will give me an opportunity to grow and better my expertise’.
